Live with the King

I'm actually a Huawei user since December of last year. The phone I was using before my Huawei was other brand we got from my husband's older sister was acting up already, and since I was desperate for a new phone (I need it for blogging purposes hehe) and we're tight in budget, the husband gifted me a Huawei one! It was not that expensive but is surprisingly a good phone! I opted for a better camera than an up-to-date OS one because I think I needed a better camera more than the latter. Huawei do have a great camera phone that has an up-to-date OS in the same time, but it would be on a pricier side. We have a certain budget for a phone, so we decided to buy the Huawei Honor 4C - it was a pretty great phone in fairness!

Now let's talk about this new model from Huawei, the Huawei Nexus 6P.
Huawei Nexus 6P
It looks classy I must say -and I like it! And I like that it has a 5.7" screen - I like phones that has big screens for watching purposes! Hihi! I like watching Youtube on my phone Now let me share with you my Top 5 Fave Features of this phone!

Of course, I like how it looks, which I said already! Hehe! With it's 3D Curved Glass, Full Metal Unibody, Anodized Aluminum, Diamond Chamfers, etc. It looks really elegant.
It comes btw in 3 colors - silver, black, and gold. I love the gold one!

I love taking photos but sometimes taking a photo at night can be a burden. But this phone is apparently good in taking photos in low-light! And speaking of camera, it has 12.3MP rear camera and 8MP front camera! So that is why it good in low-light! Nice! I love phones with great cameras and I think I love this one already! Hihi

As what I've said, I like phones with big screens. Of course, if I like phones with big screens, I like them to be clear! It would be a bummer if I had a big-ass phone but is blurry when it comes to it's graphics. It is also a plus since I like watching YouTube videos on my phone -and yes, my little one as well! We do limit her watching though, so don't worry!

That circle there is the ergonomic fingerprint sensor

I like that this phone has this one! I wouldn't worry if I left my phone somewhere else and others might read my messages or see my unflattering photos! Hehe!

 F A S T E R - T H A N - E V E R    P E R F O R M A N C E
Of course why would you like a phone with the looks but a zero in performance? It must be also good in terms of performance. It has Octa-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor - I honestly do not know anything about this but the husband told me that octa-core processors would make the phone faster plus the 3GB RAM. ;)

And those are my top 5 fave features of this phone! All-in-all I really liked it! Other great features of this phone are it's Front-Facing Speakers, Fast Charging, and it has built in Google Apps (Search, Maps, Play, YouTube, GMail, etc). Love it!

Our Daily Routine with a Toddler

O U R   D A I L Y    R O U T I N E

In the morning when she wakes up, I change her diaper, and we would go downstairs to have breakfast and play for a while. As much as possible I don't give her milk just yet so that she would be used to having solids every morning.

After a couple of hours, let's say 2-3 hours, that's when Maco become moody or rather, sleepy. She would throw tantrum at everything; because I won't let her go out, because it's too hot already, I won't let her throw the TV's remote control, I won't let her stand on the sofa's edges, and so on. I swear, it would be about everything, even for making her drink her water. *insert straight face here*  So when she turns grumpy, that's the sign that she needs to take a nap already.

When her father goes home at lunch and would peek in our room, more likely she would wake up. IDK how and IDK why, she just wakes up. Mostly her father wouldn't be near her yet, he would just open the door and boom, Maco's awake! I don't even know. Well, not when Maco slept late at around 12noon already, of course.

After she wakes up, she would gather her thoughts for a couple of mins or so (lol), and then we would go downstairs to have lunch. Rest for a while, and then she's up for bath time

After bath time, I would let her play, while I blog or do some chores, milk time and boom, she's asleep again. When she's asleep in the afternoon, that's when I could do more things. She'd be asleep for more than 2hours at least, if she wakes up after just an hour or two, expect her to sleep again around 4 or 5 in the afternoon.

Maco needs more than 2 hours of nap so she'll be Little Miss Sunshine until the day ends. Haha!

At night, we have our dinner around 7:30-8:00 in the evening. We usually wait for her father so we'd have dinner together as a family. After dinner, Maco would play, walk outside - we'll just let her do her thing downstairs. Around 9 in the evening, that's when she would take her bath. Her father give her a nice warm bath at night because it's too hot now-a-days, and to freshen her up.

After her bath, we'd change her into her jammies, and then she'll play some more in our room. Lately though, I noticed that she's so fond of her books, and of course I love it! She would get her box of books which was a gift from her Tita Tin, and would hand me one of the books, show me the pictures and it looks like she's waiting for a story - and of course, I tell her stories that are mostly about the animals on her animal book! And then, she's down. Her sleeping time is usually 11pm-12mn. Yes, that late!

Sometimes, when my little one fell asleep already that's when I turn on my laptop and blog away. But mostly, I would be too tired to do so. Hehehe!

How about you mommies, how's your daily life with your little one? :)

Food Review: California Pizza Kitchen, BGC

My niece and nephew has been a fan of this restaurant since the first time they ate there. Whenever we're out, the two would always tell their mom to eat at "California Pizza Kitchen!" with so much excitement and persistence. Haha!
It was a dead time when we ate there, around 2-3 in the afternoon. People came in around 4-5 in the afternoon.
Where they prepare the pizza! And that's a brick oven right there! Is that right, brick oven?

Keep Your Little One Cool this Summer

It's been really hot here in the Philippines, and now that it's summer already, I think the heat tripled! No exaggeration at all!
Summer is here! <3
*look at Maco's look though. HAHAHA!
Just like yesterday, April 12th, the heat index went up to 50+ degrees C (sorry IDK how to do the degree sign) if I'm not mistaken! It's the hottest since the 40+ degrees C in 2014! And apparently those who are more prone to heat stroke are kids under 5 years of age, and our senior citizens! Oh no!

And with the heat, my problem is my little girl, and the kids/babies in general. It's hard for them esp. to the parents to see their kids so irritated by the heat or worse being sick, plus let's be real, it would be costly! And no one likes that! So I would like to share with you some tips~ on how to help your little one with today's heat. These may work for my little one, and may not work for your little one, though I really hope they do!

Our Holy Week 2016

I've been spending Holy Week with the Ibanez's for quite some time now and I haven't spent the Holy Week like how they spend it. I don't really remember when I was younger - when I was 7-9 years of age on how we spent the Holy Week back then. But when I moved in Manila - to my biological father's place, we would go to Tarlac and spend the Holy Week there. I've seen men carrying a cross as their penitensya or penance. And some men do this . Kindly click it if you want to see it, and just a reminder, it's graphic, hence I didn't want to put it on here. :)

When I first saw that, I was shocked! I mean, why would they hurt themselves! But, I think we just need to respect their beliefs and/or traditions as that is how they've been doing it since Idk when. And what we do in Tarlac during the Holy Week was just swim, eat, watch TV, and nothing more. We didn't really do what other Catholics do during the Holy Week because my biological father's of a different religion. And that is why I haven't done any of what the Catholics do; like Visita Iglesia , and Pabasa

Anyway, with my husband's family; we usually do Pabasa every year. And I'm really happy I've read (sorry I don't know what the correct term should be) some since I lived with them. At first, I was kind of shy and would just read it to myself, meaning I'm just the only one hearing it, but as years passed, I think all of us were able to hear my voice already. Haha!

And this year, it was my very first time to do Visita Iglesia. I was really excited for it because I haven't done it, and I would be able to go to 7 different Churches in one day! We only got to go to the Churches within Makati, but still it was a great experience!

What we did was we'd pray 2 stations in every Church we'd visit. Here are the Churches we visited:

Let's Prevent Cervical Cancer Now

Cervical Cancer is still one of the top killers of women in in the Philippines, greater awareness is still needed to curb this preventable disease.

Cervical Cancer is one of the most curable types of cancer but despite this, it still ranks as one of the leading causes of death among Filipino women today. According to the Department of Health (DOH), while the number of cases of cervical cancer is decreasing in developed countries like the United States, it is on the rise in the Philippines.

Cervical cancer is commonly caused by the Human Papillomavirus. The HPV 16 and 18 viruses are commonly associated with the prevalence of cervical cancer among Filipino women. Risky sexual practices, sexual intercourse at young ages, use of injectable contraceptives and even smoking are identified as the reasons for the development of this disease.

Though cervical cancer can be fatal if not caught in its early stages, it is very treatable and can easily be detected through a Pap Smear test. A Pap Smear Test or Pap Test is a simple procedure that tests the presence of abnormal cells in the cervix, lower part of the uterus which, according to doctors, is actually a very big help in bringing down cervical cancer cases.

“It is alarming that despite the availability of this the Pap Smear Test, many women are still not getting it as regularly as they should,” said Carmie De Leon, vice president for sales and marketing of Healthway Medical.

In observance of Women’s Month, Healthway Medical, the country’s most trusted and leading mall-based clinic, is one with the government in enjoining women to combat cervical cancer by making the public aware of the need to undergo Pap Smear Test.

“As our mission of making men and women aware of the importance of making healthy living part of every day lifestyle, we encourage women to take the Pap Smear Test every year or every 2 years. Healthway Medical offers this test in all our clinics in Metro Manila.” De Leon added.

She also adds that women should not be embarrassed to undergo the test insisting that the Pap Smear Test is relatively simple and poses no great discomfort.

Doctors advise that women 22 years old and above should undergo pap smear every year or once every three years, particularly when results are negative for three consecutive years. This ensures that the cancer is detected early while it is still treatable.

In another study done by the ICO Information Center on HPV and Cancer, 30.3M women in the Philippines ages 15 and above are at risk of developing cervical cancer. It is the 2nd most frequent cancer among women in the Philippines and is the 2nd most frequent cancer among women between the ages of 15 and 44 years of age.

De Leon added: “It is also important to get vaccinated against the Human Papillomavirus while early even if you are not at-risk.”

Where to find affordable Books?

Even before I gave birth to Maco, I've been buying books for her already! I got a little too excited on the thought of reading her bedtime stories, I think.

I knew BookSale even before, I've been buying from them since I was in high school, I just don't know why I totally forgot about it when I was trying to find on where I could buy affordable children's books for Maco. I guess because I don't see BookSale as often as I do before anymore. *no BookSale near our area

I tried to find books online, there were some great finds, yes. But I still think it's a little out of the budget. Haha! I'm so kuripot, I know. Well, I guess I'm just being practical because I'm also going to give birth that time! Hence I was trying to find the most affordable ones, and I'm not just pertaining to books. But of course, we cannot pass up the quality! Quality is a must.

Other than BookSale, there's another bookstore that sells affordable books, it's Chapters & Pages, it's also like BookSale though the prices are a bit higher--like 10pesos or so higher. HAHAHA! But, there books were more presentable than those of in BookSale in my opinion. Not that I'm saying that the books at BookSale were not presentable or not good or sira-sira na, no, it's just some books they have at BookSale has drawings already, but it's totally fine with me because you could still read it and mostly because I got it for less than P50.00! Hehe!

Maco's books
Maco and her books
It's from Pages & Chapters I got the Dr.Seuss books for only P125.00! Yes, half the original price!

I love bookstores like those mentioned, like an ukay-ukay for books! You could buy books half the original price, it may be a second hand book, but still, you could use it! They're still decent, and actually, most books looks pretty new!

If you want to read the books you've been wanting to read since high school, I guess you would probably find it in bookstores I've mentioned. Plus, it's price would be lower! Tyagaan lang sa paghahanap!

'Let's Make a Noise' book from BookSale for only P45.00

Happy book hunting! ;)
