When Moms say their Baby's age in Months instead of Year

"Aww your baby's so cute! How old is she/he?"

"16 months!"

My little 1 yr old and 1 month so happy with her Yan Yan! Thanks to Tita Jac!
I don't know why, but it just irks me sometimes when other moms say the number of months instead of the year. I mean, is it too hard to say "my baby's 1 year old", so they say "my baby's 123456789 months!". I know most of the moms out there would roll their eyes, raise their eyebrow at me and would be saying "why the hell you care!".

It's just that some moms (like me), but mostly dads doesn't really get it. I think it's harder to understand. I mean if you're asked with your age and if you're 26, do you say 312 months? Just to make things more simple, can it be said with just the year, if the child reached a year old already?

Or maybe, it would be better if it would be said as... "1 year and 4 months!" I guess it's easier to understand than when answering "16 months".

 Well, I'm just saying... Peace

So, how was my 2015?

As you all know, I had a baby December of 2014, and by 2015, she was already a month old. Well, duh. I may have some sleepless nights on the first month, but it was fine!

The first part of 2015 for us, Joshua and I, was pretty rough! I had just a baby and the hospital bills was so damn high! I really did my best to not stay there for more than 2 nights so that it would not go much higher! And that is why we are so thankful for my family and his family for helping us! Joshua and I were really, really thankful! :)

We had just enough for every month; for Maco's check-up, for our groceries, bills, and Joshua's baon to work, so Joshua and I were really careful with our health, most especially with Maco's because we can't afford an unplanned check-up, or worse, being confined. Thankfully, we didn't have serious health issues last year! Thank you Lord! Hoping for a healthy 2016 and the coming years for us as well!

I was surprised with Maco's vaccine price, I actually thought it would not go higher than P2,000.00 but it does, so much higher and we almost cry every month of 2015! HAHAHA! Kidding! And I think we deserve a pat on the back for surpassing 2015 without so much debt! Haha

The first 5 months of my little munchkin was easy. I mean, when my little munchkin cries for milk in the middle of the night, all I had to do to put her back to sleep was stick my boob out, let her milk, and she's back to sleep. I'm so happy to be a breastfeeding mom, it's so easy! Heehee

When she began to walk and talk (saying AHH! MA! PA!), that's when she became kulit and loud! She wanted to go here and there, shouts everytime she walks, and always tells our ball of fur, Max "BA! BA!", she always tell Max to go down from the chairs! She still say that even when she's on the floor already, so I guess she thinks baba was Max's name. Well, I don't really know! And I feel sorry for Max because she's my daughter's favorite asarin. Good thing Max doesn't fight back! Haha! She still loves Maco! Heehee

The last part of 2015 was pretty okay already. There was a time we had to skip a month for her check-up, and Joshua and I were jumping for joy! Because we're able to save that money for her coming first birthday! Joshua's dad also helped me to earn extra for our munchkin's first birthday party. We are really thankful to him for that!

The whole year also helped me to be more patient because of my little munchkin. I also learned to appreciate my husband more because of all the things he has done for us. Most of the time kasi, it doesn't seem like he care with our problems or something, but he does. He just have a different approach to it. Even though we've been together for almost 5 years, he still surprises me everyday. And that is a good surprise! And I'm so thankful for he's my husband! Naks! So hun, are we going out anytime soon? Hahahahaha! But seriously, thank you for being you, hun. Even when we argue most of the time, we make sure we're good before we go to bed. Yes, we argue most of the time because of the stupidest thing! Lol but it's fine, we're fine. No worries.

With blog-related naman, I'm so happy I was able to attend a couple of events! It was really, really nice to meet fellow mom bloggers, and also to be friends with them on and off the internet! So grateful to Mommy Bloggers Philippines for letting me join their group and for letting us join the events and meet other mommy bloggers as well!

2015 has been awesome! And this 2016 I'm hoping for same or even better! Cheers to everyone!

Welcoming 2016 out of the Metro

My father-in-law, planned an out-of-town trip with her wife last Dec. 30th; my mother-in-law, wanted the whole fam to tag along since her children are complete for this year's holiday. Not sure if that's the real reason, I just made that one up! Haha! But, maybe!

Our Christmas 2015

For last year's Christmas (kung maka-lastyr parang sobrang tagal hehe), we did what we usually do during Christmas, we celebrated it at my mother-in-law's side of the family at Palanan, Makati right after we heard mass here in Guadalupe.

We came there almost 11 in the evening already, and since there were a lot of children there, of course my little munchkin played along with them! Well, not literally along with them, but she played; like screamed here and there, ran here and there kind of play. She was excited! Hahaha!

We didn't notice the time until it was past 12 midnight already! It's Christmas time!! And also my brother-in-law's birthday! Woot!

We greeted each other, had Christmas dinner, exchanged gifts, and played games right after! Oh, and Maco? Well, she stayed up while the kids were playing games! But when it was the adults' turn na, she feel asleep! Too bad my little munchkin didn't see Mama and Papa danced it off during the newspaper dance game. Hahaha! It was fun! Too bad we lost though! Huhu! Bawi this year! Hahaha!

Already excited for this year's Christmas, as my little munchkin will be able to join the games as well! Woohoo!

Sadly I don't have a photo of us, Joshua, Maco, and I as a family that time. :( Sayang talaga same dress pa naman kami ni Maco!! Huhuhu. Anyway, here are photos I have that I nicked from my cousin-in-law and sister-in-law's facebook! Heehee ;P

I was excited for last year's Christmas because at least my little munchkin was able to play and be awake even for quite some time! Unlike our 2014 Christmas wherein the three of us stayed inside the whole time! Hehehe

For this year's Christmas, I am excited already! Maco will be 2, meaning she'll be able to really play with her cousins and yes, she'll be more kulit, but it's fine! Also, hoping that we'll be complete this time! ;)

Rest in Peace, Half-blood Prince

Alan Rickman or who most of us know as Prof. Severus Snape from the Harry Potter movies, dead at the age of 69. :(

Rest in peace, Half-blood Prince. Thank you.

“" he whispered. The green eyes found the black, but after a second, something in the depths of the dark pair seemed to vanish, leaving them fixed, blank, and empty. The hand holding Harry thudded to the floor, and Snape moved no more.” ― J.K. RowlingHarry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Maco's First Birthday Party (Part 2)

For this part, I'm going to share what happened on the birthday itself!

Photo from Joshua's cousin
December 13th, my little munchkin's actual date of birth was also the time we will be celebrating her first birthday! I thought of celebrating her birthday before or after her actual birthday but having it after her actual birthday would be too near for Christmas and I bet it would be crowded in malls already or it would be difficult to reserve a venue; and if before naman, we weren't ready pa because the husband always say 'malayo pa naman'. :-/

It's already done anyway, so it's fine na! Hahaha!

Maco's First Birthday Party (Part 1)

I've been thinking of her first birthday party since I gave birth to my little munchkin; on where to celebrate it, what would the giveaways be, the theme, etc. Nope, totally not kidding! I'm that excited!

Months passed, and we're going near her birthday!

November came, and that's when I thought we should have the venue already. I know, I think it's kind of last minute, I should've had the venue two months earlier. It slipped my mind that since her birthday is in December, many people would be reserving for their Christmas parties! Yes, as early as December 13th!

Jollibee's Hello Kitty or McDo's Adventure Time?
We were choosing between Jollibee and McDonald's for her first birthday venue. We've been to Jollibee parties at BGC and we liked it! The hosts were funny and really lively! I've been to a McDonald's party before, but it's been years since, so I don't remember much about it already. You may be thinking why we were just choosing between the two, well because we thought these two were the most affordable and less hassle for us!

Our first choice actually was Jollibee, we chose  Hello Kitty for the theme. But then someone told us that mas makakatipid if McDonald's, and since that person has had a party at McDonald's before, we chose McDonald's. Also, we liked Adventure Time more than Hello Kitty! Heehee sorry kitty cat!

We were planning to have a photobooth like we did on her baptismal's reception several months ago, but luckily we attended a party prior to her birthday and we didn't like the idea of it. Maybe if we don't have a limited time for the venue, it would be great! One of the reasons is that, instead of the guests participating on the games or whatnot, of course they would be lining up for the photobooth! Ano ba naman laban ng games sa kodakan, diba?! Hahaha!

So instead of getting a photobooth, we searched for a photographer! It would be great if it's just among the family/friends, but we don't want to hassle the guest so we hired a photographer for her birthday. I found Manila Eye Event Photography through, and we booked them as soon as we were able to contact them!

Photo from Manila Eye Event Photography facebook page
I would like that as a family; me, Joshua, and Maco would be in Adventure Time characters, so I tried to find someone on the net that does tutu dresses and would do her tutu dress something like Princess Bubblegum's. I was able to talk to some but their rates were too high. :( Luckily I found Len's Crochet! I don't exactly remember how I was able to find them, but thankfully I did! They're not as expensive as the ones I found before them so I also ordered a tutu skirt for her photoshoot.

Tutu Dress and Skirt from Len's Crochet
I was planning on having a photo shoot for my little munchkin's coming birthday party, so I bought an extra tutu skirt for the shoot. We were supposed to shoot her in my sister-in-law's place since they have a 'garden' there, but that didn't happen because I attended MBP Christmas party a week before her birthday, and the day before her birthday was when we did last minute errands. :( Totally not what I planned! Weekdays naman is when everyone else is busy but me, so... Good thing though, I shot a couple of photos of her here at home, though it did not came out as how I wanted it to be, but at least meron. Heehee

We're only days away her birthday but we still don't have shoes and cake; so we bought the shoes I've been eye-ing at Market! Market! It's too pink but it goes well with her outfit so why not!

Cutie shoes, aren't they!?
For the shoes, we just got them from Metro Department Store at Market! Market!, I think they're cute and they go well with her Princess Bubblegum dress. :)

Rainbow Cake!!! YUUMMMM
We got her cake from Cupcakes by Sonja, we saw it by accident at there store in Glorietta, and from there we thought it was the one! It was not as fancy as the other cakes that we usually use in birthdays but Joshua and I thought it goes perfect with her birthday theme. Now here's a little story on how we got her cake... The day before her birthday, we went to Serendra to reserve the cake, unfortunately though, all were reserved so we went out the store sad. :( Because of the sadness it brought us, I wanted to have a piece of it at least. But then... the lady told us that the person who reserved the cake did not confirm regarding the reservation, so yes we got the cake! Woot! Good thing we went back! Yey!

We were all set. Yey! Will have another blog post about her birthday party!

My First Mommy Bloggers Philippines Christmas Party and A Little Blogging Background

I've been blogging since I was a teenager, it was just like a journal at the time, telling how my day went and all. My blog posts were also mostly about me being emo and sh*t (Lol!), hey I also went through that emo phase as a teenager. I was full of angst and hate. Lol! Remembering it makes me laugh and embarrassed because why the hell was I full of hate! Hahaha! But I'm fine now. As what Kris Aquino says "love, love, love!".

I stopped blogging when I entered college. I got so busy with plates here and there. When I became irregular though, I think I started writing again. But that didn't last long.

Last year, I started blogging again when I became pregnant with my little munchkin, Maco. I had nothing to do at home and I've been itching to do something productive so I thought, "what the hell, im'ma blog!" Lol. So here I am now, a mother and still blogging! *wink

So how did I became a member of Mommy Bloggers Philippines?

I found out about Mommy Bloggers Philippines from the blogs I read from time-to-time when I search for something mommy/baby related here in the Philippines. At first I didn't care about the logo they had on their blogs and then I got curious as why they have such photo on their blogs. I'm talking about the MBP logo, btw. I clicked it, and from there I joined! Thankfully I was accepted! Yey!

There you go, my somehow blogging background. Lol!

The first event I attended with Mommy Bloggers Philippines was Vita Cubes Fun Day at Fun Ranch last August 2nd of last year. It was also the first time I met co-mommy blogger and co-member of MBP, Mommy Jen, who's now a friend of mine, not just online but also offline. Heehee! I was able to attend a couple of events here and there, won some raffles, and of course, I was able to meet other mommy bloggers like myself! Super fun!

Now, let's go to what this post is really about. Haha! Ang daming side kwentos! Hahaha
