Saving Money while Shopping for Christmas Gifts with Shopback!

Hey Mommas! Christmas is just around the corner, and we know how malls here in the Philippines are during this season, right? Good thing we could shop online so it's less hassle, and less tiring! I do love shopping online, however, some doesn't have sale, so it's a bummer! I love sale! Anything that would make me spend less that is! Haha!

Anyway, I've been hearing about Shopback from some friends and been seeing it online, so I tried it myself! It's basically a website wherein if you buy from your favorite online shop through it, you'll get some of your money back! Who doesn't like that, eh?! Just great for us mommas out there! We all know how tight we are with budgeting! Or am I the only one!?

So if you're planning on buying christmas gifts for your loved ones, definitely check out Shopback! You could choose from hundreds of shops from there! Now, let me share with you some of the stores you mstry to check out to buy gifts from, or even for yourself!

I recently just got introduced to Korean skincare (I KNOW!! Where have I been?), and so far so good! So if you love Korean skincare products, you may shop through shopback.ph to save a little! Althea Korea have a wide range of Korean products! You could also get some gifts for your family and friends who love Korean products! ;)

For your mom, your girl friends, and your niece who loves make-up, well hey, you could find it at Sephora! Sephora is a well known store all over the world! Thank goodness we already have it here, though just through online, but isn't it just great?

And of course, for your dad, husband, guy friends, and nephew. You could choose a wide range of products from electronics, clothes, to shoes, and even toys at Takatack’s online sale!

First, of course you must have an account at Shopback, but don't worry, it's so easy to have one! You could even sign up through Facebook or your Google account!

And then you could select where you would want to shop through it, you could search the brand itself, or you could choose through categories. There are a lot of stores in Shopback!!

And then if you've already chosen the store you want to buy on, you should click the shop now button. And then it would re-direct you from Shopback to the store's website!

Once you've paid, the cash back would then reflect on your Shopback account within a few days! Easy as that!

Since I started working and could afford on giving presents to my loved ones, I never thought how happy it would make me feel, especially when you know you've given them what they love! So if you're trying to buy presents, why not shop through Shopback, you could avoid traffic, less hassle, a lot of awesome shops, and you would save money through it!

My Little Girl is Turning Two

In less than a month, my little girl is turning two! Oh how time flies, really.
My little girl who used to cry whenever she sees other people, my little girl who used to be okay if she's just laying around doing nothing, my little girl who used to be so quiet, my little girl who doesn't cry much and only cries when she's hungry.

Now, yes, she's still shy around other people, but give her a good 15 mins or so and she'll be the kulit little girl we know! She wants to play, play, and play! Well, she's a kid after all, so that is totally fine with us. And now, she knows what she wants, and she cries if she didn't get it. It is a struggle for us, but I'm pretty sure as long as she's with Mama and Papa, she doesn't instantly get what she wants. Well, not if she's with the grandparents and titas... Oh well!

At this age of my little girl, she can count 1 to 10. Yey! I am just so happy when I heard her counting! With her ABCs, she can recognize some letters, though not all,  but as we always say, we're not in a hurry.

Maco can repeat whatever we say, so we must be careful on what comes out our mouth if she's around. There are times that she would repeat every word we say, like we have a pet parrot. Haha! Oh my little girl, my little darling girl. You are loved. Thank you for bringing joy to us. We all love you so much!

My smiling little girl

Let me share with you some moments I got surprised with what my little girl did...

Her cousins were fighting over an iPad
Maco: No! Don't iPad!
(Lol. I was like, what the fun, where did that come from!!!)

Her father was doing the letter gesture with his hand
Joshua: Maco, what letter is this?
Maco: E!
Joshua: Maco, what letter is this? (because it was C)
Maco: E!
Joshua: No, this is C.
Maco: No, E!!!!
(We all laughed at first, but we tried to tell her it was C. Or maybe she was thinking it was a small letter e? IDK. We were just shocked on how she responded.)

Me pointing at her name and asking her what letters it were
Maco: M-A-C-O
(Wow! Without us coaching/telling her what letters it were)

Oh how time flies. I still remember everything from the moment I gave birth to her, and now she's turning two. WHAT. As what I always say, I am thankful to our Lord God for giving us a healthy little girl. And for what I always pray, I just want us all to be healthy. All other things that the Lord has given us is just a bonus. And we are so happy! Thank you for everything, Lord God. We are beyond grateful.

Vita Cubes Fun Day 2 at Active Fun

I was excited that I got invited to the Vita Cubes Fun Day 2 last Oct. 22nd (I know it's been too long already. Sorry!). I was able to attend last year's event held at Fun Ranch and it was awesome, so I'm pretty sure this time's Vita Cubes Day will be so much fun as well!

The time I got there with my little girl, they were playing games already. A lot of kids were having fun playing! A lot of activities for the kids and the parents, of course!
Macoki decorating her cake! :)
One of the activities was cake decorating. While decorating, my little girl's munching on Vita Cubes!
Vita Cubes are cube-shaped jelly candies filled with vitamins and minerals, so no need to worry, Mommas! ;) Vita Cubes contain lysine, zinc, vitamin A, B, C and E! I, myself, tend to get worried or rather, I don't let my little girl eat candies that much because we all know it's not healthy, but with Vita Cubes, I know my little girl will just be fine because as I've said, it's high in vitamins and minerals! ;)

Frances Sales of Topaz Horizon talked and it was very informative. She shared on how she started with blogging and I love it when she said she give her kids candies! Haha! I was relieved that she give her kids candies. Hehe! IDK why but I felt that way. Heehee! Somehow made me at ease that I'm not the only one who gives her little one candies!

I know I've shared here on my blog that as much as I possible I try to give my little girl healthy food, I still do, but sometimes, I give in and I just want her to experience being a kid, I mean, candies are for kids, right? ;)

There was also a magician. The kids surely did enjoy his act! My little girl was quite sleepy already hence she was turning grumpy. :( Good thing my husband was able to follow from his work, or it would be so hard to bring our loot and carry my little girl at the same time.

with Mama!
with Papa!
Love 'em jelly candies!!!
Vita Cubes is available at all Mercury Drug outlets, SM Supermarkets, Robinson's Supermarkets, Waltermart, Landmark, Puregold, and other leading supermarkets and local grocery stores nationwide. Also available in Mini Stop outlets.
Look at my silly girl!! Haha! She loves it! She calls Vita Cubes, yummy!

PS
While I'm finishing this post and my little girl saw the above photo...
Maco: Hmmm... Yummy

Review: Skin Genie Apple Cider Vinegar Soap

Sorry! This is the only photo I have of the Apple Cider Vinegar Soap!!!
*will change this as soon as I received my 2nd purchase! ;)
As y'all Mommas know, I got the Skin Genie Apple Cider Vinegar soap from BeautyMNL.com a few weeks ago. You may read my haul here. I didn't use it right away as I was still finishing my then facial cleanser. But of course I threw that out and tried on the Apple Cider Vinegar soap from Skin Genie because I just can't wait already! Haha

I haven't tried the actual Apple Cider Vinegar nor have smelled it so I just based my expectations from what I read on other blogs or forums regarding the actual Apple Cider Vinegar. And yes, they said it didn't smell  good so that made me think twice on whether I should use it or not. BUT, they also said that it did really help with the blemishes so of course, I had to use it right away! (Lol! Just how us, women, think right?! Lol)

When I opened it, I told myself that it wouldn't smell nice, and good luck na lang sa aking face! Lol! Well, apparently, it DIDN'T smell horrible. It smells good actually that it made me think if it would work in any way.

A couple of weeks have passed and I must say, I looooove it!!! It didn't make my face flawless like a baby's butt, but it did made the scars lighten and my face looks better now that it did last month! I swear.
Oops sorry for the face!!! No filter, no edits (just added my watermark), no hilamos pa, and my awkward smile
As you can see, I don't have perfect skin. There are still blemishes, yes, but I assure you humupa na yan as what I told my husband. Hahahaha! Grabe IDK what happened to my skin it was so bad! I get acne whenever my period comes but it wasn't that bad. I don't want to post photos of those horrible days noh! Hahaha! But, I think I know why it happened. Maybe because I slept for 2 consecutive nights with make-up on. Yes, I did! It was bad thing to do. I know I shouldn't, I was just too tiiiiirrreeeddddd to get up and wash my face, I fell asleep right then and there. So mommas, ladies, everyone, don't sleep with your make-up still on your face. Just don't. :)

Btw, just a heads up, the soap tends to melt (not sure if that's how you describe it!), but if you could cut it before you use it, it would not be wasted and the soap would last longer. ;)

This review is my own opinion and I ain't paid to say these good stuff about the product, it really just worked for me and  I'm just so happy! :)

Food Review: Peperoni Pizzeria, Uptown Mall

So as I mentioned here, we went to Uptown Mall for our 2nd wedding anniversary, we played at Kidzoona and ate at Peperoni Pizzeria. And I said that I would review Peperoni Pizzeria because I fell in love with their food and crew. <3

Before anything else, I would like to commend their staff, good job to Peperoni Pizzeria for hiring friendly and accommodating staff! Two thumbs up!

Now, let me share with you why we chose this restaurant of all the restaurants in Uptown Mall. As I've said in the other post, a lot of restaurants are open already in the said mall. We were supposed to eat at Tim Ho Wan because I've been curious of the hype but we chose not because I thought we could eat there some other time. I saw Peperoni Pizzeria's ad on the ground floor just before we get in the mall, and it got me curious! Well played, Peperoni Pizzeria. Hehe

Creative ceiling decor!
Wasn't able to take a photo of the whole interior but it's really nice and well lit
When we found it, I asked one of the crew by the door if there are available seats inside, apparently it was jam-packed as it was around 7 in the evening! Dinner time of everyone! Hehe! He politely told us that we could sit outside for a while until there would be available seats. He gave us the menu, which was really cute and creative. Ugh bummer I forgot to take a photo of it!

I find it so cute they give kids these cute wares! My little girl sure did enjoy her meal with these.

love their parmesan cheese! Hehe! Bago pa lang so hindi pa mahirap mag-shake para lumabas yung cheese
Love this wall art!
I really like restaurants that have open kitchen
Amatriciana | P 430.00
The 3 of us loved their pasta! I was actually craving some pasta from CPK (lol sorry), so I tried to find something that's quite similar to it. This wasn't close to it but Amatriciana caught my attention on their menu, and so that's what we ordered. Surprisingly, we all loved it. Maco approves of this pasta dish as well! It was really savory, the sweetness from the bacon balances the sourness from the tomato sauce. So sorry I'm not good with describing food. I'm just good at eating them and saying it's delicious and you should try it! Btw, you could choose whether you'd like your paste be penne, spaghetti, or fettuccini.

Anyway, one of the crew said their pasta dishes were good for 2, but IDK why, it's not enough for my husband and I. Lol! We're big eaters so maybe that's why. And plus Maco, yeah maybe because of Maco. (sinisi pa ang bata) Lol
Green Salad | P 220.00
Nothing special with the salad. Just greens with balsamic vinaigrette. Lol I feel such a foodie saying that! Hahaha! Anyway, I liked it even though not much was happening on this dish. I should've ordered their spicy wings so my husband would also enjoy. Or the chicken salad. Just trying to be healthy. Haha kidding!

My little girl enjoying her pasta!
We ordered a large sized pizza (P 545.00). You could have 2 flavors in 1 pizza, just like we did!
Margherita
I chose this though I wish there were more tomatoes and basil. I like that you could really taste the mozzarella! As much as I like the crusts on pizzas, on this one though, I hope the crust was smaller. We just find the crust to big for a thin pizza.

Bacon Miele
This one was what my husband chose. At first I didn't like it because of it's sweetness from the honey, but after that first bite, it was quite delicious. I was just hoping for a crispier bacon, but even though the bacon wasn't crispy, it was still delish! My little girl loved this one as well!

Overall verdict is that I love it. I love their food, their staff, their interiors. I love it! I know the price is quite higher than what we'd usually spend on when we eat out, but it was fine, it was our anniversary after all. A little splurging for a special day wouldn't be too bad. ;)

Tupperware Brands KIDS PLUS, MOM PLUS Review + BABY CARE PLUS Giveaway! [CLOSED]

Took me quite a while to share my thoughts about these Tupperware Brands - Baby Care Plus, Kids Plus, and Mom Plus as I've been trying on their Mom Plus Stretch mark cream.

So I received these products a couple of weeks back. I was excited and so was my little girl! I hurriedly smelled the Kids Plus shampoos, bath soap and cologne. I actually didn't like it at first because I thought it was too strong.
A photo posted by Coi Contreras (@coifishh) on

We later on tried it to my little girl, the shampoo and bath. It has quite a strong fruity smell from the bottle but when you poured it on your hand, it wasn't that strong. It was my husband who bathe Maco when we tried to use it for the first time. He said he liked it because with just one pump it covered my little girl's whole body already. It foams up pretty well, so if you're the type of mom who doesn't like foamy wash for your little one, I don't think this is for you. But we, especially my little girl, love 'em bubbles so yay for us! :)
Kids Plus Bath, Shampoo, Lotion, Cologne, Powder
Mom Plus Ultra Moisturizing Bar, Soothing Relief Bar, Stretch Mark Cream
We also like the smell after my little girl's bath, she smells fresh and fruity (I'm not really a fan of fruity smells, but this one would pass as it was not too strong, though when you smell it direct from the bottle, it really comes out strong). For the longevity, it lasts long. We usually bathe Maco at night, before she goes to sleep. So it is given that in the morning, she still smells fruity/fresh as she doesn't do much while she was sleeping (well duh), meaning no pawis and all. I noticed that the fruity smell fades when it's in the late afternoon already, though she doesn't smell unpleasant -the fruity smell just faded. So it was fine with us.

Main reason why this review took a while was because I tested the Mom Plus Stretch Mark Cream. And momma, does it work!! I was actually surprised that it works. Hehe! I didn't took a before photo of my tyan and I don't want to post either, so I'll just tell you mommas what's up. I've been using it for more than a week already, and I noticed that my stretch marks lightened! Seriously. I'm not exaggerating. I don't really know how to explain this, but the skin kind of firmed, not totally yet, well I'm not sure if it would but it lightened my stretch marks so I'm hoping it would! I just love the product!

I use the Mom Plus Stretch Mark Cream every night after I took my bath, and then squeeze a small amount on the fingers and lather it on the affected areas in circular motion. And yaaasss, it's working momma! I think I can pull off a bikini already for next year's summer, but I need to lose some weight first! Hahaha!

Now, let's have a giveaway, Mommas!!!

Your Beauty Needs from BeautyMNL.com

What is timing when BeautyMNL handpicked me to site a test run, because I'm trying to find a good facial cleanser for my ever sensitive skin! This Momma needs to stay fab, too. Hehe! ;P There are a lot of beauty products on their site, from makeup, skin care, hair care, beauty tools, and there are kid-friendly items too VMV HypoallergenicsMild and Gentle Baby Shampoo from Zen Nutrients and Happy Face, Happy Body: Milk Wash!

Now let me share with you my BeautyMNL Haul!

I got the Softening and Lightening Almond Toner (3) since I saw it on the best seller section, and I've read good reviews of so I thought why not try it! Apple Cider Vinegar Soap (5)  because I have read and heard from people about the good benefits of Apple Cider Vinegar, especially to those who have problem skin. Also from Skin Genie, I chose Top of the Morning Coffee Scrub (4) as I've also read some good benefits of coffee to our skin, I've also watched some videos on Youtube, wherein youtubers make DIY coffee scrub so yaasss. I still wanted to try other facial wash so I got the Deep Clean Foam Cleanser (2). I also got the Detail Simply Matte Lipstick in Crazy (1), I like it's shade and it's not expensive at all!

I love all the items I picked, plus the ordering process is so easy! I ordered mine on a Sunday just to see if the items I picked would be delivered the next day. I was actually expecting for it to come by Tuesday. Because hey, it was a Sunday after all. But apparently, they are true to what they say of next-day delivery within Metro Manila. Yes, I got mine on a Monday afternoon! In fairness huh! But I think if you order on a Saturday, your order would be delivered by Monday as there are no couriers during Sundays, just like the other companies.

The ordering process was such a breeze. And if ever you would think twice of getting an item like what I always do whenever I shop (hahaha! I can't decide on which to get!!!), you could just simply take it off of your cart and choose another one, you could go back and back on the items to see which one you would like best. Love the BeautyMNL site as there are tons of our beauty needs! Best for the busy Mommas out there!

For payment methods, you could pay via Credit Card, Paypal, Bank Deposit, and best one which is Cash on Delivery. Yaassss

And hey, Mommas! If you love taking selfies like everyone does, you could join their #selfieMNL contest! Get a chance to win a Printster polaroid of your pretty face and a PHP200 BeautyMNL GC. Click here for the complete details.

Toddlers, Books, and ABC's

We used to have a schedule for my little girl's learning, I let her watch some educational videos for babies everyday in the morning and right after her nap. But then I thought I don't want to force her to watch if she doesn't want to. And so I stopped with it.

So now, I made these awesome flash cards for her! Those are what I use to teach her her ABC's. And we also have books that we read every now and then. I don't force her to get a book and we'll have some reading time though. I already arranged her book bin so whenever she wanted to read or rather look at the pages, she could easily do so.

Lately though I noticed that the little girl always get her pouch of flash cards and always tell me "meeee" which means please so I could open it. And then she'll start saying the letters and so we'll have an afternoon of ABC's. She would also get a book and look at the pages. Her current favorite is this one:

Whenever she gets a book, we read it, or if it is something like this book which doesn't have a story, I just tell her what it is on the page, and then later on ask her what it is. Or sometimes I make out a story out of the picture.

I'm just lucky the little girl likes holding books, looking at the pages and reciting her ABC's (even though she doesn't say it right always haha). I'm hoping this would continue until she's in college! Lol! Though that is not like me, I read every now and then, but not as much as other book readers who could finish a book in just a day or two. I want to but I don't think it's for me. What I love is arts and crafts. I love pens, papers, color, you name it!

But maybe when my little girl turns 2 or 3, that's when I'll give her a schedule for learning time, I think it would also prepare her when she'll go to school already. But for now, I'll just let her enjoy her toys and not having a schedule for learning. ;)

Food Review: Kan Zhu Hand-Pulled Noodles, SM Hypermarket Pasig City

A couple of months ago, yes months, we had our little munchkin's check up while my MIL went grocery shopping. We met up with her after Maco's check up. I personally love the SM Hypermarket at Pasig, the one right across Tiendesitas! Just because their supermarket have clothing inside, and even furniture.

So after she was done grocery shopping, we ate at Kan Zhu. I thought it was the same with Zhu Kitchen, but apparently it wasn't.

I personally liked their interiors. Simple and clean.

Braised Beef Dry Noodles | P 195.00
I went to the safe side, and ordered this as it has the chef recommendation
It's noodles and beef were really soft and tender. And the sauce was really savory.

Mixed Seafood Noodle Soup | P 180.00

This was my husband's order. He didn't like it that much. As what my husband told me, he didn't like it because the seafood weren't fresh. The soup was nice, it was just the seafood.

Forgot what it's called :(
This was new to their menu and it was my MIL's order. She didn't like it as much as well. I tasted a little of it, I think it was good but not as good as my order. Hehe! This tasted like Carbonara. It was really creamy, I think that's the reason why my MIL didn't like it as much.

Shrimp Mousse Spring Rolls | P 120.00
We ordered this for Maco. I don't think she liked it hehe. It was like lumpia but with shrimp inside so the texture was really soft. The dip was spicy though!

Sharksfin Dumplings | P 95.00
Nothing special with their Sharksfin dumplings. It was like the other sharksfin dumplings we tasted, but not in a bad way. It was good.
Sesame Butchi | P 80.00
Their butchi was also like the other butchi we've had. Not bad.

The food in Kan Zhu were good and affordable. Though I suggest to order the ones with the chef recommendation label if you'd eat here, just so you would enjoy it!
