Where to celebrate 1st Birthday?

Now that is the question I've been asking myself since we were done with my little girl's baptism last February. Or maybe even before her baptismal. Haha!

Yes, I am that excited! :)

I don't know why do I even bother to stress myself about this when I only have two choices, Jollibee or Mcdonald's. Haha! I guess I wanted to have a grand celebration without exceeding the budget. Who doesn't, anyway? I know there are other fast food chains out there that cater kids' party but these two are the friendliest to our budget. And I'm still trying to find which one is the friendliest-est among these two. Heehee #kuripotmomma

Maybe some moms out there would say, why not throw the party at home, it's cheaper that way. I don't want the hassle of thinking what to serve our guests, the preparation, we have to rent someone to host the event (I am not good at hosting/standing in front of a crowd with a mic.NO), etc. etc. Plus, right after the party, all you wanted to do is lay in bed, relax and bond with my little one, but no, if we would celebrate here at home, of course we need to clean up the mess we did. Just thinking about it makes me tired and lazy. Lol sorry.

Addition to what we wanted for our little girl is the theme of these two fast food chains. What I really wanted was Minnie Mouse theme, but since none of the two caters that, we immediately chose Hello Kitty, though I am not really a fan of this kitty cat. I find her cute yes, but Idk I guess because can't understand her or something like that, Hello Kitty's confusing man. And oh, she's not a cat. But apparently, my little girl likes Hello Kitty! Okay. Fine with Mama. Jollibee and Hello Kitty it is. I already even calculated how much we would spend for her birthday, it would be more or less 10,000Php. I think it's not bad at all. I just hope we would not exceed 10K.

jollibee

But then my sister-in-law, Ate Jac, told us that Mcdonald's is much cheaper than Jollibee, though I am not really sure about that. But I already fell in love with Hello Kitty. And I don't like Winx for ef's sake! Why doesn't Mcdonald's have pretty themes? Why not have Minnie Mouse/Mickey Mouse theme? Why Winx? Who likes Winx?! Hahaha! Good thing they have Adventure Time theme! I love Adventure Time! I just don't think it's good for girls and kids but, you leave us with no choice, Mcdonald's. Hahaha! Of course, I calculated as well and came up with a total of 11,000Php, it's higher than Jollibee with a thousand pesos but I think it's good. I'm not really sure if what I did was right since it doesn't have the calculator-like app on their website like Jollibee's. Btw, with Jollibee's website, we could pay online already unlike with Mcdonald's that we need to go to the branch itself and talk to the manager there. But I like talking to people better when it comes to event organizing. :)

Hopefully, we would be done with the preparation a month before the party itself. I don't want to repeat what happened with my little girl's baptism. Heehee

  1. Haha. I feel you Coi. Thats the same feeling I felt a year ago. It's kinda hard to choose, specially if you're on budget. And I agree, mas bet ko din wag ihassle ang sarili ko. My son's baptism and 1st bday were held sa mga fastfoods. Max's and Pizza Hut. Im telling you, walang kahirap hirap kasi after ng event, uwi kagad, open ng gifts and rest. Mas kilala ng mga kids ang Jollibee. Hehe.

  2. Yup! Nakaka-hassle pag sa bahay, diba? Nung binyag ni Maco dito, though cater naman hassle parin haha! And mas mahal cater kesa fastfood kaya this time, fastfood kami for her birthday. Parang mas gusto ko na nga Jollibee eh, and for me mas okay food ng Jollibee kesa Mcdo but we'll see hehe :)

  5. We had my son's first birthday at home and you're right, it was really tiring and stressful! If I can do it all over again, I would plan a really simple celebration with just a handful of guests. It was too overwhelming for my boy.

  6. You really have to be a super mom kung sa bahay ang venue hehe. Very practical talaga kung sa mga restaurants because it's less hassle. Just add a little diy na lang to have a more personal touch. Goodluck! =)

  7. My kids also recognize Jollibee better than McDo. Kasi ba naman the bee's face is all over compared to a letter M lang so pag dating sa mascots mas alam nila si Jollibee. Hehe :)

  8. Pag fastfood na birthday party, mas enjoy ang kids sa Jollibee siguro kasi si Jollibee mismo yung sasayaw sa party.

  9. We celebrated our son's 1st birthday in Parks and Wildlife in QC. We wanted to have a safari themed party and more options on how to celebrate. With regard to the Mcdo vs Jollibee match, my boy will definitely choose the big bee over the big boots. Happy birthday to your little angel! Have fun on your family's special day! Thanks for sharing!

  10. Nice, I didn't know they already have a Hello Kitty theme. Anyway, I know Mcdonald's costs a little cheaper but I would choose Jollibee. IT'S JOLLIBEE, after all! Jollibee parties are fun, I'm a big fan of a dancing Jollibee (I still get excited when I see one. hahaha). McDo doesn't have a mascot (though they have a guy dressed in clown, which is scary for most kids, by the way! haha) And the food, for the kids' sake, I vote for Jollibee. ;)

PS: We had Jollibee party for my daughter's 2nd bday and it was great! My kids recognize all Jollibee characters (Hetty, Yum, Popo, & Twirly) but they don't know about Mcdo's friends. LOL

  11. Reading this post brought back all the memories ( the good, the bad and the ugly. hehehe!), when I was on the planning stage (for my baby's 1st bday).
Can't really say which is better, McDo or Jollibee, for I haven't booked a party with either one of them but popularity (with kids) wise, I think I would go for Jollibee :)

  14. Both my daughters celebrated their first birthdays in Jollibee! Mas in yata kasi talaga sa mga kids ang Jollibee! :)

  15. Honestly think that you should go for the adventuretime theme in mcdo. Mcdo has great service kaso nga lang be wary if your guests start enlisting the kids on the adult meal list, nakakastress kasi nakakalaki ng bill hehehe
